Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of learnchinese.today (the “Site”), operated by ITCS Webplace Ltda., Brazilian CNPJ no. 65.998.990/0001-44 (“Webplace”).
By using the Site, users acknowledge that they have read these Terms and agree to comply with them.
1. About learnchinese.today
learnchinese.today is an educational project designed for learning and practicing the Chinese language.
The Site may provide, among other features:
- vocabulary;
- phrases;
- grammar content;
- games and exercises;
- Chinese characters;
- lyrics, study materials, and audiovisual resources;
- learning history or progress;
- optional sign-in;
- an educational AI tutor.
The Site is under continuous development. Features may be added, changed, suspended, or removed.
2. Educational nature
The Site's materials and tools are provided for educational and informational purposes.
Although we aim to provide useful and appropriate content, we do not guarantee that translations, pronunciation guidance, grammar explanations, examples, AI-generated answers, or other content will always be free from errors.
The Site does not replace teachers, official learning materials, educational institutions, official examinations, or certifications.
3. Access to the Site
Much of the Site may be accessed without signing in.
Certain features may require authentication, including account-related functionality, personalization, progress, or tutor features.
The Site may apply reasonable technical usage limits to protect availability, security, and platform stability.
4. Google Sign-In
Google Sign-In is optional.
It is used to authenticate the user and enable account-linked functionality.
For this purpose, the Site does not request access to Gmail content, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or other Google Account service content.
Use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's applicable terms and policies.
Users are responsible for maintaining the security of the Google Account used for authentication.
5. User accounts
Users should provide and maintain information consistent with legitimate use of the service.
Users must not:
- use another person's account without authorization;
- attempt to gain access to another user's account;
- share authentication mechanisms in a manner that compromises security;
- use nicknames or information that violate third-party rights or applicable law.
Webplace may suspend or limit accounts where there are reasonable indications of fraud, abuse, security compromise, or violation of these Terms.
6. Account deletion
Until an automated deletion tool is available, users may request deletion of their account by emailing:

7. Permitted use
Users may use the Site for:
- study;
- practice;
- personal research;
- educational activities;
- legitimate use of available features.
Use must comply with these Terms, applicable law, and third-party rights.
8. Prohibited use
Users must not use the Site to:
- engage in unlawful or fraudulent activity;
- transmit malware or malicious code;
- attempt unauthorized access to accounts, servers, databases, or restricted areas;
- exploit vulnerabilities with the intent to cause harm, improperly obtain data, or compromise the service;
- conduct denial-of-service attacks or deliberately interfere with Site operation;
- automate access at a volume incompatible with normal use;
- perform aggressive scraping that harms infrastructure or violates rights;
- use the Site for spam, harassment, fraud, or infringement of third-party rights;
- bypass security controls or technical limits;
- reproduce or distribute content in violation of applicable licenses.
Nothing in this clause is intended to prohibit good-faith, responsible security research that causes no harm, does not access third-party data without authorization, and complies with applicable law.
9. Content, intellectual property, and licenses
Unless otherwise indicated, trademarks, visual identity, proprietary code, platform organization, interfaces, original texts, and other original elements of the Site belong to Webplace or are used under authorization.
Certain educational materials, libraries, fonts, datasets, or third-party components may be subject to their own licenses, including open licenses such as Creative Commons, MIT, or equivalents.
Where a specific license is identified with a particular item of content, that license governs the relevant material.
Use of the Site does not grant users ownership rights in trademarks, software, databases, or protected content.
10. Third-party content and links
The Site may contain references, links, embeds, or materials provided by third parties.
A link or reference does not necessarily constitute endorsement, warranty, or control over an external service.
Users should review the applicable terms and privacy policies of third-party services they use.
11. AI tutor
The Site may provide an AI-based tutor.
Responses:
- are generated automatically;
- may contain errors, omissions, or inappropriate interpretations;
- should be used as educational support;
- do not constitute language proficiency certification;
- do not replace professional or academic guidance where such guidance is required.
Users are responsible for critically evaluating responses before relying on them for important decisions.
12. User content submitted to the tutor
By submitting text to the tutor, the user grants Webplace a limited authorization to process that content only to the extent necessary to:
- provide the requested feature;
- generate a response;
- maintain service security and integrity;
- diagnose technical issues;
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
Users represent that they will not submit content that infringes third-party rights or that would be unlawful for the Site to process.
Users should avoid submitting sensitive data, passwords, identity documents, financial information, secrets, or confidential information.
13. Privacy and cookies
Personal data processing is governed by the learnchinese.today Privacy Policy.
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, including technologies required for operation and, according to the user's applicable choice, analytics technologies.
Users may manage available preferences through the cookie mechanism provided on the Site.
14. Availability
The Site is provided according to technical availability.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, absence of errors, or permanent availability of any feature.
The Site may experience:
- maintenance;
- updates;
- supplier failures;
- temporary downtime;
- infrastructure changes;
- security-related interruptions.
Where reasonably possible, we aim to restore service and preserve its integrity.
15. Free service and future features
Under the version currently described, the Site does not process payments.
Webplace may later offer paid plans, subscriptions, premium features, or other monetization models.
No charge will be imposed without appropriate information to the user and any legally required agreement or action.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Webplace will not be liable for:
- unavoidable temporary outages;
- losses arising from use contrary to Site instructions;
- decisions made exclusively based on automated responses or educational content without appropriate verification;
- actions or failures of third-party services outside Webplace's reasonable control;
- indirect or consequential damages where such exclusion is legally permitted.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may be protected by consumer law.
17. Security and abusive use
Webplace may take reasonable measures to protect the Site, users, and infrastructure, including:
- request rate limits;
- blocking malicious traffic;
- terminating sessions;
- suspending accounts;
- retaining security logs;
- investigating incidents.
Measures will be proportionate to the relevant risk and will comply with applicable law where required.
18. Children and teenagers
The Site is educational but is not specifically directed at children.
Where children or teenagers use the Site, parental or guardian supervision is recommended, particularly for features involving accounts, content submission, or interaction with AI.
Processing of children's and teenagers' personal data will follow the Privacy Policy and applicable law, with their best interests as a primary consideration.
19. Changes to the Site and Terms
Webplace may update the Site and these Terms to reflect new features, technical changes, legal developments, or service improvements.
The current version will be identified by the date shown at the top.
Where a change materially affects user rights or obligations, additional notice or renewed user action may be used where appropriate.
20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
This provision does not exclude mandatory rights that users may have under applicable law, including data protection and consumer protection rules.
